Prefab kitchen installation service scope · All job topics
Get the room and items ready
Deliver and identify all cabinet frames, legs, plinth parts and approved layout drawings. Empty the kitchen work area and arrange any appliance disconnection separately. If old units are being removed, agree when floor damage or moisture will be reviewed. Worktop templating should follow the relevant supplier's readiness requirements rather than an assumed same-day sequence.
Cabinet legs, rails, plinths and joining components must belong to the chosen system. Levelling materials and supports should suit the installation rather than masking a failing floor. Decorative end panels are not structural substitutes. Any missing component that affects support or worktop preparation should be identified before the run is treated as complete.
Plan access and the order of work
A small condo kitchen may have little space for assembled base units and boxed appliances at the same time. Plan the order of deliveries and a staging area with clear exits. Removal debris and new cartons need separate handling arrangements; expecting both in one elevator slot can reduce useful installation time substantially.
The agreed sequence verifies the layout and floor conditions, assembles the units and establishes the intended aligned run using the manufacturer system. Appliance openings and front operation are checked before the next supplier proceeds. Any worktop readiness, remaining plinth work or unresolved floor concern is recorded instead of relying on a verbal assumption.
Photographs that clarify this task
- Kitchen layout with each base-unit code.
- Wide floor and wall views before installation.
- Appliance openings and any exposed floor damage.
The assessment compares the cabinet plan with measured floor variation, wall alignment and appliance requirements. It checks whether existing plumbing or sockets conflict with the proposed units, without including relocation in the cabinet task. The condition beneath old cabinets may only become visible after removal, so the estimate should identify that uncertainty.
Know the limit before arrival
Cabinet levelling does not repair rotten floors, structural movement or moisture sources. Plumbing, gas and electrical disconnections remain separate regulated work. If floor conditions prevent stable support, installation pauses for an appropriate remedy. Worktop fitting or stone handling is included only where explicitly agreed and suitable for the appointed service.
Send the service, property postal code, preferred date and the relevant preparation details together. Share private access instructions only when arranging the actual visit.
Planning example
A condo resident schedules cabinet delivery, old-kitchen removal and a countertop visit on the same morning. The sequence leaves no time to inspect the exposed floor or establish the new run. Preparation means separating those stages and confirming the countertop supplier's readiness requirements. That avoids pressure to conceal an unexpected condition merely because the next appointment is already waiting in the loading area.
Downtown Toronto context
A home near Union Station or CityPlace may have separate lobby and loading entrances. Include the actual service route, postal code and any building permissions. See the downtown focus perimeter and GTA enquiry guide before requesting a date.
