Move-in & move-out cleaning service scope · All job topics
Review the agreed result
- Agreed storage interiors are checked and left dry.
- Included appliances are reviewed before food or belongings return.
- Accessible edges that furniture will cover are checked.
- Received damage, excluded contamination and lock-up completion are documented.
Inspect after possession where practical and identify the areas the new household wants completed before unpacking. Ask about recent painting, lingering belongings, appliance contents and any property-manager repair work. Photos should show the condition on receipt. Separate ordinary dust and food residue from damage, pest evidence or renovation deposits that need a different service assessment.
Keep the completion sequence clear
Record the received condition, address agreed empty cupboards and appliance interiors first, and work through bathroom and kitchen surfaces before final floors. Review the areas that will become hidden behind furniture. Provide owner-authorised completion photos where arranged, then leave cupboards dry and the route clear for the scheduled move without claiming to certify the property’s condition.
Move-in cleaning excludes property inspection, pest clearance, construction cleanup, repair work and certification that a suite is free from contamination. Unknown dust after renovation, active leaks or pest evidence require separate advice before ordinary cleaning proceeds. Items left behind are not automatically rubbish, and the cleaner should not discard them without the responsible person’s explicit direction.
Care after the visit
Allow cleaned storage to dry before filling shelves, protect finished floors during furniture delivery and keep the completion checklist for unpacking. If movers leave new debris, distinguish it from the completed pre-move clean. Report hidden damage as it is discovered; the cleaning appointment cannot establish whether a defect existed before possession or developed during later deliveries.
The method must suit the suite’s actual materials, including any fresh finishes installed before possession. Separate kitchen and bathroom tools and select appliance-interior products by the model instructions. A preference for disinfecting should be discussed as a defined optional step, rather than describing an ordinary move-in clean as sterilisation or assuming stronger chemicals improve every surface.
Keep a record of an unresolved item
Compare the result with the approved written scope. Record any unfinished item, agreed exclusion or required specialist follow-up separately. Use ordinary observation and the provider’s demonstration; do not overload or destructively test an installation.
- Received suite before furniture delivery
- Empty cupboards and appliance condition
- Recent paint or floor installation information
Planning example
Before furniture arrives, the occupant checks the edges that a bed and sofa will cover, along with the included storage and appliance interiors. Cupboards are dry and ready for later unpacking. A damaged shelf is documented separately. The review creates a clear starting record for the new household, while recognising that dust introduced by the movers afterwards is a new condition rather than proof of a missed pre-move task.
Downtown Toronto context
A home near Union Station or CityPlace may have separate lobby and loading entrances. Include the actual service route, postal code and any building permissions. See the downtown focus perimeter and GTA enquiry guide before requesting a date.
