Review the agreed result
- Listed empty shelves and drawer interiors have no loose crumbs.
- Accessible corners are checked without forcing fixed mechanisms.
- Surfaces are dry before agreed restocking begins.
- Existing stains, swelling and excluded storage areas are recorded.
Count the cupboards, shelves and drawers and identify their materials and any removable liners. Ask whether shelves lift out safely or are fixed in place. Under-sink cabinetry deserves a separate look for leaks and damaged boards. Photos showing open cupboards reveal depth and access better than a photograph of closed doors or a kitchen floor plan alone.
Keep the completion sequence clear
Document damaged surfaces, remove loose crumbs, then clean shelves, accessible corners and drawer interiors within the agreed list. Use controlled moisture and allow surfaces to dry before the owner returns belongings. Check that removable shelves are seated properly and that drawers move as before. Report under-sink dampness or unexpected pest evidence instead of covering it with liners.
Cupboard cleaning excludes pest treatment, leak repair, carpentry, hardware adjustment and handling unknown chemical spills. Absorbed stains or odours can remain in damaged board. Do not remove structural dividers or force a jammed drawer. If a cabinet contains droppings, extensive mould or unknown residues, the ordinary cleaning scope should pause for an appropriate assessment.
Care after the visit
Allow cupboards to be fully dry before returning food packages and dishes. Use liners only where suitable for the cabinet material and avoid hiding ongoing dampness. Check the under-sink area periodically for leaks. Keep the completion list so the next booking can target used cupboards instead of paying again for already clean, untouched storage areas.
Choose a mild, surface-compatible method for each cabinet interior and control moisture at unsealed edges. Painted shelves may have cure restrictions, while raw particleboard can react badly to saturation. Clean kitchen-dedicated cloths and a suitable dry-debris tool are preferable to reusing bathroom tools. Replacing shelf paper or treating stains requires separate material selection and agreement.
Keep a record of an unresolved item
Compare the result with the approved written scope. Record any unfinished item, agreed exclusion or required specialist follow-up separately. Use ordinary observation and the provider’s demonstration; do not overload or destructively test an installation.
- Open cupboards showing shelf count
- Under-sink cabinet and visible water damage
- Stuck drawer or fixed pull-out arrangement
Planning example
Before returning dishes, the resident checks that the listed shelves are dry and that approved removable parts are seated properly. A stain remains in one older shelf but loose crumbs are gone. The handover notes the stain and the excluded damaged under-sink board. This supports an informed next step without covering the board with new liner and hiding a possible continuing moisture problem.
