Review the agreed result

  • Agreed exterior faces show no removable fingerprints or food splashes.
  • Controls and lettering remain intact and settings are checked.
  • No visible product residue remains around handles or seams.
  • Untreated inaccessible sides and pre-existing scratches are noted.

List the appliances and identify their finishes, visible coating damage and operating condition. Ask whether the owner has a specific stainless finish or anti-fingerprint coating with care restrictions. Separate food splashes from heat discolouration or scratches. A clear view of the control panel helps establish what can be wiped without pressing buttons or introducing moisture.

Keep the completion sequence clear

Record visible scratches and coating wear, remove loose crumbs, and work through appliance faces with the appropriate finish-specific method. Clean handles and accessible control surrounds carefully. Remove residue and inspect the surface in ordinary kitchen light. Check that controls were not inadvertently changed and return only the owner-approved magnets or notes to their original locations.

Exterior wiping excludes appliance repair, electrical work, vent clearing, filter servicing and internal cleaning unless separately agreed. Scratches and worn control labels cannot be cleaned away. A liquid spill inside a control panel or a damaged power connection needs an appropriate assessment, not a stronger cleaning attempt. Connected equipment should not be shifted during this task.

Care after the visit

For maintenance, use the appliance maker’s recommended surface-care approach and remove fresh splashes when safe. Keep polishing products off nearby floors, where residue could create a problem. Save any notes about worn coatings or lettering, and tell the next cleaner which products were used successfully rather than assuming every stainless-looking surface has the same finish.

Select a product compatible with each appliance’s actual finish, following its care guide rather than a generic stainless-steel assumption. Use clean, soft tools and control liquid around switches, seams and vents. A small test area can reveal a finish response, but it cannot guarantee that already damaged coatings will regain an even appearance after wiping.

Keep a record of an unresolved item

Compare the result with the approved written scope. Record any unfinished item, agreed exclusion or required specialist follow-up separately. Use ordinary observation and the provider’s demonstration; do not overload or destructively test an installation.

  • Kitchen appliance group
  • Finish label or model identification
  • Close-up of marked control panel or coating

Planning example

After cleaning, the resident checks handles and looks across the refrigerator door under ordinary light. A scratch remains visible but removable fingerprints are gone. The cleaner notes that a tightly fitted side panel could not be reached without moving the appliance. The handover therefore records the actual completed faces, rather than describing the whole appliance as cleaned and leaving the inaccessible side ambiguous.

Downtown Toronto context

A home near Union Station or CityPlace may have separate lobby and loading entrances. Include the actual service route, postal code and any building permissions. See the downtown focus perimeter and GTA enquiry guide before requesting a date.
