What this job is trying to solve
A drawer that sticks, sits crooked or fails to close softly may need adjustment, but damaged runners or an overloaded drawer can create similar symptoms. Identify the runner system before deciding on a remedy; different manufacturers provide different adjustment features and replacement parts.
Check the drawer model where identifiable, runner type, front gaps, closure behaviour and visible damage. Observe the drawer empty as well as in ordinary use if practical. Separate a simple alignment issue from a distorted box, failed runner or cabinet that is no longer square.
Choose the right extent of work
Blum TANDEM and other runner systems have model-specific adjustment and retaining features, so a generic slide repair promise is insufficient. Compare an alignment service with an equivalent alignment service. Replacing runners, repairing the box and rebuilding the cabinet are materially different scopes requiring separate written descriptions.
This task excludes rebuilding a structurally damaged cabinet, modifying electrical drawers or promising restoration of a discontinued runner. A missing safety or retaining component must not be bypassed. Persistent cabinet distortion or water damage may require a cabinet specialist rather than further runner adjustment.
How the work is organized
Identify the runner system, demonstrate the symptom and complete the agreed adjustment using relevant product guidance. Review the front alignment and ordinary travel afterward. If worn or damaged components prevent a useful adjustment, document that condition and obtain approval for sourcing or replacement work.
The worker needs room to remove and inspect the drawer safely, with a protected place to set it down. Clear nearby breakables and explain any unusually heavy drawer box. Under-counter appliances and narrow condo kitchens can limit access to the rear runner connections.

Planning example
A kitchen drawer sits low on one side and its soft-close action is inconsistent. The provider first identifies the runner system rather than assuming that every slide has the same adjustment. The owner wants to retain the existing drawer if suitable. The assessment distinguishes alignment, a damaged retaining component and a distorted drawer box before proposing adjustment or replacement as the appropriate scope.
