Why the price can differ
Accessory number, runner complexity, door access and the amount of interior rearrangement affect price. A basket fitting differs from a multi-part drawer with a divider and soft-close mechanism. Quotes should name each product and whether old accessories are removed or retained, making optional organizers and additional replacement hardware visible before authorization.
Compare the same accessory list and layout, since a wardrobe filled with drawers involves more work than a frame with one rail. Distinguish simple fitting from rearrangement of existing interiors or repair. The written scope should show whether alignment checks, door conflicts and additional inserts are included in the completed result.
Materials and included work
Use the matching drawers, runners, trays, baskets, rails and dividers for the exact frame dimensions. Organizer inserts and lighting accessories may be sold separately and are not assumed included. Mixing runner lengths or generations can cause poor travel. Any electrical accessory beyond ordinary product assembly needs its own clearly agreed scope and appropriate service.
Accessory fitting does not cure an unstable wardrobe frame or permit drilling arbitrary new mounting holes. Manufacturer restrictions on positions and compatible components must be respected. A blocked drawer may need a revised layout rather than a forced runner adjustment. Hardwired lighting, custom carpentry and repairs to damaged structural panels remain separate tasks.
Ask these questions in writing
- Do all accessory codes match the frame width, depth and version?
- Has the layout been checked against door and hinge positions?
- Are removal, relocation and optional inserts included?
Assessment matches each accessory code to the wardrobe's width, depth and version, then checks proposed heights against hinges, doors and adjacent fittings. Existing frames need inspection for damaged mounting holes or missing supports. The service identifies whether the task is adding new interiors, relocating existing pieces or replacing a faulty runner system.
Account for access and change approval
Access requires enough room to extend drawers and work at both sides of the frame. Sliding doors may restrict which section can be reached at one time, while hinged doors can have conflicting hardware positions. Clear the bedroom path and arrange clothing storage temporarily so the fitting appointment is not spent relocating personal contents.
A remote appraisal can change after hands-on review. Ask what condition changed, which options are available and how the revision affects the scope before approving extra work. If a material gap remains unexplained after matching the scope, seek an independent second opinion.
Planning example
Two quotes name the same wardrobe width, but one includes eight drawers, trays and dividers while the other includes only shelves and a rail. The owner compares the actual accessory list and asks whether existing fittings must be removed first. This makes the labour difference understandable and keeps optional inserts from becoming surprise additions after the visit has already started or the packaging has been discarded.
Downtown Toronto context
A home near Union Station or CityPlace may have separate lobby and loading entrances. Include the actual service route, postal code and any building permissions. See the downtown focus perimeter and GTA enquiry guide before requesting a date.
