What this job is trying to solve
A short driving distance can still involve substantial handling when the vehicle must stand far from the suite. Describe the full carrying route, its doors and turns, and the number of trips likely to use it.
Walk the permitted loading route and measure its main sections. Note ramps, thresholds, turns, stairs and the difference between the building’s postal entrance and authorized truck access.
Choose the right extent of work
Compare drive distance with handling distance. A move between nearby downtown towers may involve more indoor carrying than a longer drive between homes with direct driveway access.
No quote should promise to block sidewalks, cycle routes or emergency access to shorten a carry. If lawful loading is unavailable, agree an alternative before items leave the suite.
How the work is organized
Confirm a lawful stopping location, establish a protected route and stage only where the building allows. Keep residents able to pass and adjust the carrying plan if access changes.
Toronto moving vans must still obey posted parking and traffic restrictions while loading. A booked building elevator does not reserve a public curb space or authorize obstruction of a fire route.

The assessor traces the full route rather than measuring only the drive to the building. Ramps, heavy doors and return trips are recorded. This explains why carrying time may dominate the move even when the next address is only a short distance away.
