Get the room and items ready
Provide an inventory of all frames and identify whether the centrepiece, furniture centreline or overall grouping takes priority. A floor arrangement or measured sketch helps. Keep new items and alternative frames available until the arrangement is approved, because late substitutions can change several neighbouring positions.
A mixed gallery can require several compatible attachment systems rather than one bulk pack of identical hooks. Removable layout templates can support approval, while frames with poor rear fittings need a separate remedy. Any adhesive option remains subject to its own surface and product instructions.
Plan access and the order of work
The full width of the proposed grouping should be accessible at the same time. Protect a nearby dining table or media cabinet and confirm whether it will be moved. In a downtown condo, reserve enough floor space for safely staging frames without blocking the exit route.
Agree on the outer grouping, approve the spacing and identify any intentionally uneven edges before installation begins. Complete the accepted layout in a documented order and review it from the usual viewing position. A request to redesign the finished grouping should trigger a separate scope discussion.
Photographs that clarify this task
- All frames together with dimensions
- Whole display wall from viewing distance
- Rear fittings on each frame family
The appraisal compares every frame size, orientation and rear fitting, then relates the whole grouping to furniture, switches and door openings. The proposed outer boundary matters as much as individual gaps. Wall construction and attachment suitability are confirmed separately from the decorative layout.
Know the limit before arrival
Layout advice does not make unsuitable walls or fragile frames safe. A gallery above a high stair opening, expensive specialist artwork or prohibited condominium surfaces may require another provider. Filling previous holes and painting a larger wall area should be expressly included or excluded.
Send the service, property postal code, preferred date and the relevant preparation details together. Share private access instructions only when arranging the actual visit.
Planning example
The proposed gallery contains twelve frames, but a floor arrangement shows that two additional keepsakes are intended for the same wall. The owner supplies the complete inventory and dimensions before scheduling. The layout can then account for all pieces together, rather than leaving an unplanned blank space or moving previously installed frames when the final keepsakes are introduced during the appointment.
Downtown Toronto context
A home near Union Station or CityPlace may have separate lobby and loading entrances. Include the actual service route, postal code and any building permissions. See the downtown focus perimeter and GTA enquiry guide before requesting a date.
