Review the agreed result
- Rod position and curtain coverage accepted
- Curtains open without agreed clearance conflicts
- Included components and missing items recorded
- Old holes handled according to the estimate
Record the rod system, curtain dimensions, liner weight and intended bracket positions. Assess the visible wall or ceiling surface and the window opening clearance. Existing loose brackets should be inspected for underlying damage, while unknown headers or concealed services may limit where mounting can occur.
Keep the completion sequence clear
Approve the visual height and curtain travel, confirm an acceptable mounting location and complete the agreed rod installation. Test ordinary opening and closing with the actual curtains. Any missing support, unsuitable surface or conflict with the window should lead to a revised proposal before work continues.
No attachment to glazing, window framing, sprinkler systems or restricted common elements is assumed. High atrium windows, motorized curtains and electrical connections require separate assessment or appropriate specialists. The task does not include modifying concrete structure or giving a universal allowable curtain weight.
Care after the visit
Open curtains using the intended draw method rather than pulling sharply down on the fabric. Keep children from climbing or hanging on rods and follow the product instructions. If brackets move or cracks appear around them, stop using the curtains until the installation is reassessed.
The approved list should identify the rod, brackets, finials, rings and any centre support supplied with the chosen system. Attachment products depend on the assessed surface. Owner-supplied kits may lack parts or have unsupported spans, so completeness and compatibility need checking before installation is promised.
Keep a record of an unresolved item
Compare the result with the approved written scope. Record any unfinished item, agreed exclusion or required specialist follow-up separately. Use ordinary observation and the provider’s demonstration; do not overload or destructively test an installation.
- Whole window and adjacent door openings
- Rod kit and bracket components
- Curtain label or dimensions and lining
Planning example
The rod is installed at the accepted height, then the actual curtains are opened and closed in the normal way. A finial conflicts with the balcony-door swing, despite looking clear when the curtains were absent. The issue is reviewed against the accepted clearance requirement before completion. The owner receives a record of the final arrangement and any limitation rather than only a photograph of an unloaded rod.
Downtown Toronto context
A home near Union Station or CityPlace may have separate lobby and loading entrances. Include the actual service route, postal code and any building permissions. See the downtown focus perimeter and GTA enquiry guide before requesting a date.
