Check the finished job and keep a clear completion record

Start the completion discussion with the written task list.

Return to the agreed scope

Start the completion discussion with the written task list. Review each included item and record anything not completed, changed or deferred. Separate an agreed exclusion from unfinished work. For a bundled appointment, use a separate line for cleaning, assembly, repair and other services so one successful task does not hide an unresolved one.

Use checks suited to the work

For a cleaning visit, review the agreed rooms and accessible surfaces. For a moving job, compare the item inventory and destination placement. For assembly, review alignment, ordinary operation and the manufacturer’s required safety measures with the installer. For paint, allow the specified drying conditions before evaluating the finish. Do not overload, pull on or destructively test an installation.

Record care and restrictions

Ask what can be used immediately and what needs more time. Keep product labels, care instructions, spare hardware and any warranty information supplied by the actual manufacturer. A provider’s completion note and a manufacturer’s product warranty answer different questions. Never infer a load rating or cure time from appearance alone.

Resolve an issue with evidence

Explain what you observe, which agreed item it relates to and when it became apparent. Comparable photographs and the original request make the discussion easier. Ask what follow-up is proposed and whether additional cost or a specialist assessment is involved. If the proposed next step is unclear or the price gap is material and unexplained, seek an independent opinion.

Close the loop without losing the record

Keep the final scope, approved changes, invoice and completion notes together. Remove access permissions or return borrowed fobs according to the building arrangement. If you want recurring service, start a separate conversation about frequency and priorities rather than assuming the first appointment created an ongoing commitment.
